Tests and Tricare

I've been seeing a doctor for the past 8 months or so. I go every 4 weeks for a follow up and he says "try THIS"... I still have whatever's wrong with me so I went last week and told them I was DONE. I don't want them to look at me again...I just want to be referred out to the specialty doctors.
They done their job and put the referral in, so you would think that I could be seen pretty soon right? Heck no! Tricare has to receive it, then approve it, and then send it back to the dr's office, and then I get a letter in the mail saying it's approved....so I guess that I'll be seen in a few months. UUGGG...I am sooo tired of just being "patched up".
My hubby's not doing any better with his back. They put him on light duty last week. He went today to get an MRI and a few other tests. They told him that his psiatic is pinched again so that means another surgery for him.
To top it off, my teenager has strep throat! My hubby took her on Fathers Day as a walk in. He's such a good daddy...but that's another blog...

Summer Break Starts

Here is is! The first day of summer break!!
We all stayed up late last night watching a movie so the older girls are sleeping in. It's so nice not to have to get up and make sure clothes are matching and socks are found and everyone has their papers signed for the day. We're suppose to do that the night before but for some reason or another it never happens.
Mackenzie, of course, was up at 6:00 AM. She is cutting in molars and has a little bit of a head cold.
It's way too hot and humid to be outside today so I am going to make the kids clean the house a little and then we will go rent some movies to watch.
I don't have anything formally planned for the summer but I know we'll have a good time no matter what it is.
It always makes me wonder if other parents are stressing themselves out unnecessarily when it comes to planning summer activities. My kids are laid back and open to anything. I like that about my family. I know moms that woke up this morning and already have the whole day planned. Do they think their kids won't like them if they took a day of rest? Is it not OK to do nothing for a change? I have to believe that my kids will love me and have a good childhood even if we're not on the go all the time. My kids worked hard in school this year and I am glad to be able to provide them with a stress free environment. We probably should have more of a defined schedule but I like how things are around here...and that's all that matters.

Back to Normal

Well here it is not even a month since John came back from Afghanistan and things are surprisingly back to normal.
Everybody always asks me how I do everything while he's gone. My answer is because I have to. Somebody has to take care of the 3 kids and 3 dogs and the house and the lawn. Time and life doesn't stop....it keeps going. The only thing I can do is put on my big girl panties and get to work.
Rest assured that everything got done. It may not have been how everyone else thought it should be done, but it was done. The kids were fed, laundry was done, and the dogs didn't go hungry, lol.
I think I did a pretty good job for the past 7 months. Both of the kids are now moving on to the next grade in school so right away that's a good sign, right?
Today is the last day of school for my kids. That means that I don't have to get up and take them to school every morning. I will still have to get up around 6 AM though. My toddler doesn't seem to care if I want to sleep late or not. I'm glad this deployment is over. We are all glad to have "daddy" home again. We're going to enjoy the time we have with him because we know he'll have to go back in about a year or so. And to be honest, that's ok. You never really get use to having your husband gone...it just becomes the "norm".....but as for now, it's back to normal around here...whatever THAT is, lol!

My First Post

Hello! I am new to this so please bear with me. I promise to be more interesting as the days go on.
We are a Marine Corps family of 5.
My husband has been in the Marines for about 14 years now.
This blog is a way for me to vent and to try to describe what our day to day lives are all about. It will be a place where family and friends can look to see what's going on with our family.
I will try not to whine. I hate whiners. Feel free to leave messages and comments.
